Our Story
We are Sasha and Alena, two local Seattle women who share passion for florals and event styling. One day we became friends, and another day we entered the exciting world of flowers together. We had no idea what to do or what to expect, but creativity was always there to guide us. Consistently inspired by eternity of natural forms, shapes and palettes as well as by the amazing people we’ve got to meet, we love learning from nature and giving back to our community.

We all know that it takes one idea to start and we are sure this is most common way of starting your own thing. We had many ideas and always longed for beauty, but… we think in our case, the true starting point was having each other. We worked on some projects together like decorating BD's parties, baby showers, before we gave ourselves business name and that’s probably why our decision was as easy as “Let’s dot it”!
Following that, we had our first “styled” photoshoot, first bouquets and flower crowns, first Instagram posts and markets, which felt incredible and surreal at the same time. Later on we had amazing experiences of collaborating with local photographers, participating in floral shows and even becoming a Hometown Hero with Madewell (Hooray!).
We’ve watched and listened, we have tried and failed, we’ve tried and succeeded, and all of that we’ve done together. We gotta say though, none of that would be possible without our family & friends. God only knows how many times we made a mess of our apartments and cars, how much more stuff appeared in our storages (may our husbands always find ways to forgive us) and how often we asked our friends to come visit us at markets (outdoor, fall-winter, almost never warm), help with this, share about that. And while we are forever grateful for their unconditional love and support, we wanted to mention one more very important person in Bloom Away’s life and it is… YOU!
